Florian is an inventor who helps entrepreneurs to discover themselves, transform themselves and transform their environment.
Florian is also an entrepreneur with nine years of experience in an international incubator of systemic innovations, Engineers Without Borders Canada, operating in Canada and across sub-Saharan Africa. He co-designed and co-managed five international programs and transformed them into influential programs in respectively Canada and Sub-Sarahan Africa. One of these programs was an eight million dollar program supporting Small and Medium Enterprises linked to an investment fund of 50 million dollars. Three entrepreneurs he supported were officially recognized as leaders by President Obama in 2014 and 2015.
Florian co-founded le playground in Canada, a leadership school that provides transformational post-conventional leadership courses and interventions which allow individuals, relationships, and teams to reach deeper consciousness, accelerate their best emerging evolution and achieve impactful results.
Florian lives in St. John’s with his wife Pauline and together they love and raise their two children, Steve and Nelson.
Daan is a creative doer who helps people find their idea, fine tune a business model and take their first steps in entrepreneurship.
Daan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Management Information Systems from UHasselt (Belgium) and a Master of Business Administration from Memorial university. He was an active member of the MBA case competition team that won the P&G Cup in Toronto and the G20 Global Business Competition in Brisbane, Australia. Daan has worked on several marketing and business plans while consulting for projects ranging from $30,000 to five million dollars. Additionally, he co-founded a local startup called LunchIn focused on innovating the food delivery market and took the company from 0 to 500 customers in 6 months time. He is an active member of the startup community and always takes the time to mentor and help other entrepreneurs where possible.
Daan lives in St. John’s and loves hiking, running, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing and anything outdoors.
Elyse is a helper who has worked in various fields before finding herself here at MCE using all her bag of tricks to assist the entrepreneurs of Memorial.
Elyse holds a BFA in Theatre Stagecraft from Memorial (Grenfell Campus) and is currently working on her Master’s Degree in library Science and Information Management from the University of Western Ontario. Elyse started her professional career in theater stagecraft and worked as a stage manager for many theater companies throughout Newfoundland. She transitioned her skills into film work and for three seasons held the role of Assistant Production Coordinator for CBC’s Republic of Doyle. She then moved into the position of Production Coordinator for Wavelight Productions, a group m5 company, and continued to build her skills in administration and finance while coordinating TV commercials, web videos, and radio.
Elyse lives in St. John’s with her husband and Greyhound (Sprocket).
